The Life Saving Association of Sri Lanka (LSASL) is the controlling body for life saving in Sri Lanka, affiliated to the International Life Saving Federation (ILS), Commonwealth Royal Life Saving (UK) and International Maritime Rescue Federation (UK). The LSASL is registered with the ministry sports, Health and Disaster Management of Sri Lanka.
Our main objective is to reduce drowning and water related accidents. Up to date our recorded rescues mark nearly 4000 lives saved. We have a proud record of training nearly one million members of public including school children, armed forces and police force, all free of charge.

Sri Lanka has obtained the ILS Standers achieving the ILS equivalency among the 34 countries after a continuous engagement with this humanitarian service for a period of well over 65 years.
